Working as part of the finance team reporting to the Senior AP Analyst. Ensuring efficient payment and reconciliation of creditors’ ledger.
- Finance background
- Must have experience in a monthly accounts process relevant to the role

Working closely with the Billing and Credit Control Teams. Dealing with accurate allocation of remittance advices and posting of accounting entries to the practice management (accounting) system relating to the matching of multi-currency payments received either by foreign cheque / draft or direct transfer into the UK.

- A minimum of 3 years' experience in trade mark field in IP consulting company or law firm as trademark attorney

We are currently looking for two Trade Mark Administrators to work in our growing Trade Mark Group. Ideally you will have 2-5 years previous experience and a sound working knowledge of trade mark formalities from filing through to registration. A good knowledge of the IPPO WebTMS system would be useful but is not essential as full training will be given. In addition having obtained or be working towards your ITMA Trade Mark Administrators Course qualification (previously ITMA Formalities Course) would be beneficial but not a pre-requisite.
You will be working in a team environment primarily providing Formalities support to the trade mark team and should demonstrate strong administrative and organization skills, a proficiency with Intellectual Property management software/databases, excellent written and oral communication skills and a methodical approach to your work.
We are looking for a paralegal who has a genuine interest in IP, to support colleagues in fee earning work, assist in cases, undertake litigation support duties and legal research, be responsive and reliable and provide practical advice in a professional and unstuffy manner.
The successful candidate will have very good attention to detail, excellent legal research and problem solving skills, be expected successfully to manage his or her own workload with supervision and accurately record time. The position would suit someone willing and able to develop excellent general IP knowledge, communicate clearly and effectively and enjoy working in a team.
The candidate should have handled both contentious and non-contentious matters such as advisory work.
Previous paralegal experience preferred
Education to degree level or equivalent
- IP lawyer or patent attorney (or dual qualified).
- If lawyer, the candidate should have a science degree ideally in electronics OR extensive experience in a technology sector such as electronic components, semiconductors, telecoms, or computer science.
- If patent attorney, the candidate should have experience in commercialization of technology or licensing.
- The candidate should have handled both contentious and non-contentious matters such as advisory work.
- Good written English, spoken English is a plus.
- At least 3-6 years of experience in in-house role or private practice.
- The candidate should ideally have experience in developing business or working directly with clients independently.

- The candidate should either be based in Shenzhen, or if in another city, be willing to travel to Shenzhen several days a week. Regular travel to Guangzhou, Hong Kong and other cities is required.
- Deep familiarity with technologies in the ICT sector, in particular telecoms, semiconductors or electronics, the ideal candidate would have both a science degree and relevant working experience.
- Experience in technology licensing, venturing or commercialization.
- Extensive knowledge of leading companies and institutions in the ICT sector in China.
- An ability to independently research business opportunities, build networks and conduct marketing activities.
- The knowledge of patents is preferable but legal / patent qualification is not essential.
