Rouse brings clarity to Chinese IP

China-Britain Business Council member Rouse, an international specialist intellectual property (IP) law firm and consultancy, has launched an innovative IP litigation analysis service called CIELA – China IP Litigation Analysis.

The service, freely available at www.ciela.cn, provides comprehensive statistical analysis of 7,600 IP decisions published by China’s major IP courts since 2006.  Users can determine overall win/loss rates for rights owners, the average damages awarded for infringement and the average duration of proceedings.  By providing a detailed breakdown of the data by IP right, industry sector and court venue, CIELA aims to clear the fog of uncertainty to allow IP rights owners to make informed decisions about their litigation strategies in China.

The service is updated quarterly, with the total number of decisions analysed being extended to 9,500 by February 2010.
